My role as a therapist is to help individuals reach their full potential and improve quality of life. I utilize evidence-based practices to support individuals in decreasing symptoms of mental health issues, increasing communication skills, removing barriers to wellness, increasing awareness of self-identity, as well as understanding the nuances of culture and how culture impacts an individual’s path to wellness. I believe that as a therapist, I am privileged to be welcomed into an individual’s support structure. I aim to facilitate a warm and caring relationship that will focus on an individual’s strengths and abilities while teaching new skills to improve mental health.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a state designated Mental Health Practitioner, a Child Mental Health Specialist, and an Asian Pacific Islander Ethnic Minority Specialist. I have experience working with children, young adults, and their families. Even more specifically, I have worked extensively with immigrant and refugee populations. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, have a specialization in working with sexual assault victims, and a wide range of experience supporting and treating individuals with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and adjustment issues. I believe that each individual is unique and will utilize culturally appropriate interventions to meet the needs of each specific client.
